Youth Refuge
Wesley Youth Services
Wesley provides support to young people in need, who do not require protective care, through case management and outreach support.

Who does the program support?

Wesley's youth refuge supports:

> Young people between the ages of 16 and 20 years
> Both male and female young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness

How does the program work?

The program works by offering short-term accommodation while young people get their lives back on track. Many of the young people who attend the program find their lives in crisis for many varying reasons. Wesley helps them to address the issues that have led to homelessness and help them move forward to the next phase of their lives.

Apart from accommodation, Wesley's youth refuge also offers the following services:

> Case management
> Short term counselling
> Outreach support
> Living skills training
> Employment and training support
> Advocacy
> Information on education and community activities
> Referrals to other services

All young people who stay at Wesley's youth refuge will be assisted to move out of the cycle of homelessness and resolve those difficulties which have led to their current state of homelessness and crisis. Referrals for the refuge can be made via the Homelessness Front Door initiative which operates within the Eastern region of Melbourne.
