Youth Residential Care
Wesley Youth Services accommodates and supports young people aged 12 to 18 who are placed on protective statutory orders.

The program consists of six residential care houses across Metropolitan Melbourne which can accommodate either four or six young people at any one time with crisis, short term or long term accommodation.

Who does the program support?

> Young people aged from 12 to 18, who through no fault of their own cannot remain living with their families
> Young people with a wide range of needs due to past or present trauma

How does the program work?

A referral is made to our program from the Department of Human Services. Wesley assesses the suitability and placement of the young person and then the young person is placed in the most appropriate setting.

Support staff work together, 24 hours a day, to provide assistance and support in ways such as:

> Assisting with educational requirements
> Maintaining good health
> Reuniting the young person with their family wherever possible
> Integration back into the community

Wesley Youth Services bases its practices on young people?s strengths and seeks to provide a home environment for young people in Residential Care.
