Victorian bushfire crisis - the next steps…
The impact of the horrific fires across Victoria has been devastating – our thoughts and prayers are with the thousands of people affected.
Wesley Mission Melbourne has been encouraged by the generous financial support from individuals, community groups and businesses to support bushfire survivors. The recovery process will continue over the upcoming weeks, months and even years as people rebuild their lives and communities.
Wesley continues to provide support to people affected directly or indirectly by the fires through a number of ways including:
- Lifeline Melbourne 24 hour telephone counseling service (13 11 14) and the Rural Support Line (1300 655 969)
- Material aid support and counselling
- Ongoing support through case management support of survivors in the Kinglake region funded by the Department of Human Services
You can assist our ongoing work of providing support to people affected by the bushfires by making a donation through Our Community (this will open Our Community website) or by calling (03) 9662 2355.
Wesley Mission Melbourne also supports the UnitingCare Bushfire Disaster Appeal. Donations can be made to UnitingCare through www.shareappeal.org.au or call 1800 668 426.
