Easter appeal - Wesley Linlithgow Multicultural Centre
Wesley Linlithgow Multicultural Centre relies on donations to provide support and run activities that make a difference to socially isolated older people in the community.
This program's staff and 23 dedicated volunteers need your help to continue to serve midday meals, teach computer skills, organise excursions and facilitate games, talks and exercise, which keep the community connected.
Anthony, a regular guest at the centre, says:
“Without my weekly lunches at Linlithgow I wouldn’t have the opportunity to share stories and meet some wonderful people. I’m 90 now and still live on my own. I’m very proud of that. I was born in Sicily you know! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to reminisce with my friends at the centre in Italian.”
You can support socially isolated older people by donating to the Wesley Easter Appeal.

Leader Food for Families appeal
2007 is the 16th annual Leader Food for Families appeal. The appeal gives you an easy way to help homeless people and people in crisis who turn to Wesley Mission Melbourne for assistance.
Through the 2007 Leader Food for Families Appeal, we aim to collect sufficient donations of grocery items and toiletries to meet the needs of over 8000 homeless people who will receive assistance from Wesley Mission Melbourne during the next year. With your help we can do it.
You can now donate online to this appeal (this will open up the Our Community site).
Your donation will be used to purchase non-perishable food to restock our shelves throughout the year, and to provide food vouchers so people can purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, meat or dairy products.

Your generous response to our appeal will help us meet the demand for food throughout 2008

Lifeline Melbourne is a free, telephone crisis counselling service. Our phone lines are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Volunteer telephone counselors give generously of their own time to extend a helping hand to desperate people facing overwhelming circumstances - often on their own, and especially at night.
Lifeline Melbourne needs to train 200 new volunteer telephone counselors every year to ensure the service is accessible around the clock.
Lifeline Melbourne's volunteer telephone counsellors comfort and support more than 38,000 people every year.
It costs more than $800,000 each year to provide this vital service to the community, of which government funding amounts to $518,000. We rely on public generosity to fund the gap.
Crisis can happen to anyone, at anytime. No one should feel alone. Your tax-deductible gift guarantees that Lifeline Melbourne will continue to be there for people in crisis.
