Ever thought of Caring for Kids?
Do you feel like you have something to give but not quite sure what to do?
Are you looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity to help disadvantaged young people in your community? Two different and exciting opportunities are available to join the team at Wesley Children Youth and Family Services as a volunteer carer in the Eastern Region. · Full time, live-in opportunity providing day to day care for up to three young people who cannot live with their own families and are currently in care under the Department of Human Services. Carers would be provided with accommodation, regular respite, a tax-free reimbursement and utility costs are covered by the agency. · Do you have a spare room? Provide day to day care for a young person in your own home who cannot live with their own family and are currently in care under the Department of Human Services. You could commit to providing an emergency, respite, short-term or long-term placement. A generous tax free reimbursement is available to carers. Applicants are required to be 21+ years of age, have a commitment to providing loving, nurturing and safe care to young people and have a sense of humour. Carers must undergo a formal assessment and accreditation process prior to commencement in the program including a Criminal Records Check and a Working With Children Check. Initial and ongoing training is provided by Wesley Mission Victoria as well as 24 hour support. Please contact Andrea Trezise on 9871 5333 for further information or an information pack. |
