Wesley Employment Services helps people with a permanent injury, medical condition or disability to get a job with our ongoing support, promoting an inclusive workforce that embraces diversity.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible you must be of legal working age 14 and 9 months with a permanent injury, medical condition or disability. You must be unemployed, working less than 10 or 8 hours or in jeopardy of losing your job because of your condition.

Examples:
- People with permanent medical conditions or injuries including, heart conditions, back or shoulder injuries, epilepsy, depression or anxiety to name just a few
- People with learning difficulties
- People who have sensory, physical and intellectual disabilities, including people with an acquired brain injury
- People experiencing long-term disadvantage
- People experiencing barriers to employment

To register you will need a letter from your doctor outlining your condition and provide photo identification for example drivers license or passport.

 

 How does the program work?

We help you identify the type of work most suited to you, arrange training and work experience, increase your confidence, build your skills and provide on the job coaching.

 

Our service includes:

• Assistance with relevant work experience through our New Futures Work Experience Program.

• Identifying your current skill levels, job interests and personal goals.

• Selecting appropriate job choices and training needs.

• Job search assistance including help with job applications and resumes.

• Application assistance for apprenticeships and traineeships.

• Developing your interview skills in our regular interview practice training sessions.

• Advocating job ready candidates to Career Partners and employers.

• Assessment and access to workplace modifications.

• The availability of an on site psychotherapist if required.

• Assistance from our experienced employment consultants, reverse marketers and support workers.

• Access to relevant government funding and wage subsidies for employers.

• Funding for work related items such as training, uniforms and appropriate clothes for interviews.

• Tailored ongoing support once you have started work - face to face or phone contact regarding industrial relations issues, wage checks (award EBA/rates compliant) or any other work related issues.
