Through Arthur Preston Residential Centre, Wesley provides Victoria's only specialist facility for people with Huntington's disease. The facility also provides specialised supported accommodation for people with other progressive neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis.
The home-like environment maintains residents' quality of life, dignity and independence.
In addition to this Wesley, assisted by funding received through the State and Federal Government’s my future my choice initiative, has recently built and is operating a six bed accommodation facility for young people with neurodegenerative diseases on land that has been purchased in Glen Waverley.

How does the program work?
The Arthur Preston House consists of three modern houses located in the City of Whitehorse. These purpose built homes are fully wheelchair accessible and each bedroom has its own bathroom ensuite.
Wesley supports a holistic approach to caring for people with progressive neurological disorders and has a multidisciplinary team that includes:
> Resident support workers > Recreation workers > Registered nurses > Speech pathologists > Physiotherapists > Volunteers
Volunteers make an enormous contribution to the lives of residents through social support and recreational activities, including swimming, bingo and bowling.
The my future my choice house is a home like environment for residents, providing them with the combined elements of individualised active support and meaningful activities to provide the opportunity to enhance their independence and ensure social and community inclusion.
The my future my choice house is staffed 24 hours a day by disability support workers who have received extensive training in the specific support requirements of each individual in their care. In addition, a part time registered nurse has been employed to oversee the implementation of each resident’s health care plan.
The house is equipped with overhead hoists in every bedroom, and technology to maximize independence and autonomy, including remote operated front door, height adjustable kitchen bench, portable call pendants, and an accessible IT desk in the living room.
