Wesley provides a range of flexible, community-based activities and supported holidays for people with physical and intellectual disabilities, including people with an acquired brain injury.
Our services facilitate access to recreational, sport, and other community activities that:
> Increase social connections > Be part of their community > Develop skills and abilities
Who does the program support?
Wesley offers community activities for:
> People with an intellectual and or physical disability > People with an acquired brain injury > People aged between 18 and 65 years > People with higher support needs
How does the program work?
Wesley offers two streams of community based activities for people with disabilities:
> Day programs - regular individual or group based social activities > Support holidays - tailored and supported Victorian and interstate holidays
Costs to participants vary depending on the activity; however we can assist people to access funding support.
We offer a wide range of day activities by working in partnership with many community centres, neighbourhood houses, community organisations and groups to develop and deliver services. Our experienced and qualified staff support participants in their chosen activities, which might include:
> Indoor rock climbing > A men's social group > Music therapy and sensory room > Cooking > Indoor cricket > Rowing > Boxing > Gardening
All services provide support based on each person's interests, goals and needs. We respond to individual needs which might include transport to and from activities, flexible hours, and one-to-one support.
Wesley also provides a wide range of supported holidays for people with an acquired brain injury to choose from. Supported holidays are a great way to meet new people and make friends.
All support staff are highly trained and experienced in supporting people who have an acquired brain injury. We tailor holidays to meet individual needs, with some previous destinations including Queensland, Perth, Tasmania, Phillip Island, Bendigo, Apollo Bay, Daylesford, Warrnambool, Echuca, Lakes Entrance, Halls Gap, and Ballarat to name a few.
