Our Planned Activity Groups in Chadstone and Ivanhoe provide planned activities for socially isolated and older people that encourage socialisation and aim to reduce people experiencing isolation in the community. Carer respite is also available at St Marks. Who does the program support?> Older people living in the City of Monash and Banyule> People with disabilities living in the City of Monash and Banyule > People with dementia residing in the City of Monash and Banyule How does the program work?Each program offers opportunities to participate in specially planned support programs while socialising with other people in similar circumstances. Our services aim to maintain and enhance participants' quality of life, as well as providing respite and support for their carers. Our group programs give carers a chance to take a break to rest, visit family and friends or just have uninterrupted time knowing their loved one is supported by qualified and experienced staff. People are encouraged to take part in interesting and new experiences, with culturally themed days, health education, and computer classes just a few of the activities requested by participants. There are also a number of special interest groups, with current groups including: > Men's group Morning tea and lunch are cooked on site on a regular basis. Our professional staff and volunteers provide personal care and respond to physical, cognitive and cultural needs of clients. Our services focus on what participants want, encouraging independence with creativity and innovation.
